Kind Cop Shared Pizza With Homeless Woman

Humanity does not need a plan to come on the surface and spread some joys. It manages to bloom time and again in various forms and gestures through some noble souls. Its charm powers up the toiling souls to take on the agonies of life. Making a mark in that sphere, a cop named Michael Roberts won millions of hearts with his generosity.

Officer Roberts was carrying out his mundane when he noticed a woman sitting on the roadside while driving his way. Commissioned at Goldsboro Police Department in North Carolina, the Officer had never seen her before in the area in his ten years of duty. He stopped after grabbing the message- ‘Homeless. The fastest way to becoming a nobody’ on her shirt. The two looked at each other and broke the silence by saying “hey”. Then, Robert proceeded ahead leaving the short interaction behind. But the thought of her being homeless popped up to rankle his soul.

His concern made him take drive his way back to the woman. He approached her and asked if she had eaten anything that day. To his dismay, she replied in no. He left to get her a decent lunch and returned with some cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Handing her lunch, he sat down to listen to her story of poverty. The two unwound the series of talks while enjoying their lunch. The woman introduced herself as Michelle. She revealed that she had a 12-year-old daughter struggling in the clutches of liver cancer, a 23-year-old son and her husband who was standing across the road joining her in their time of being homeless.

While the two were living their moments of humanity, a passerby amused at cop’s kind gesture captured the heart-swaying scene. And then the picture glorifying humanity created waves around the sphere. Finally, it reached the Police Chief- Michael West. He bubbled up with joy to see his cop extending the scope of his duty beyond the sphere of law and order.

Taking on that part, he shared, “The circumstances around our job are often an unpleasant call to service. But this picture just shows we’re human just like anyone else and any chance we get to serve the community and help people, we take that chance. I’m very fortunate to have Officer Rivers in our department”.

Shedding some light on his nobility, Officer Roberts said, “I come to work and my method is, “Who can I bless today? Who can I make smile?” I’m not the one that wants to take somebody’s father or mother and put them in jail”.

Keep the job up, Officer!
