Selena Gomez Lived Through The Storms, Inspiring Many To Rise After The Fall

Inspiring December, 04, 2024

You have seen Selena Gomez perform and even seen her act in various TV shows and movies. She has inspired so many people in one way or another, through her music and also through her story. To begin with, she did not have a normal childhood. She was born to teenage parents and when she was a little 5-year old girl, they separated. She lived with her grandparents for quite a long time in her growing years as her parents were in school.

When she was 9-years old, she started her career with a performance in Kids show “Barney & Friends”. Her first TV show where she played the lead was as we all know “Wizards of Waverly Place”. She played the role of Alex Russo and that show became everyone’s favorite in just a short time. This was just the beginning of her career that only went up from there.

She knew she had singing talent and wanted to step into the world of music. Her first music recording was the cover of “Cruella de Vil” for DisneyMania 6 in 2008. Soon music became an integral part of her life. The soundtracks for “Another Cinderella Story” and “Tinker Bell” were even sung by Selena Gomez. From being an integral part of her life to her whole life, music was the path that she had chosen now.

But there are ups and downs that everyone has to face in their life. You can grow and achieve all you want but the struggles won’t stop and Selena’s life is no different. She might have given one hit after another and gained a following of millions on social media, life put her through a difficult phase at one point.

She was diagnosed with lupus in 2012 and her fans got to know about this after two years. When a person is suffering from lupus, healthy tissues in various parts of the body are attacked and Selena went through something exactly like when her symptoms advanced. She had to undergo a kidney transplant in 2017. Her best friend Francia Raísa donated her kidney to save Selena’s life and it was a turning point in their life. Selena’s surgery was successful and their bond is now stronger than ever.

We have so much to take from her inspiring story. She has survived through the storms and came out stronger and better every time. She inspired and she continues to do so by encouraging them – “I just want to be happy. If that’s me just being myself, then I don’t really care.”
