Mother Saves Her 4-Year-Old Daughter’s Life After Their Car Fell In The Freezing Pond

Inspiring April, 25, 2024

When a kid is in any danger, moms get super cautious and their motherly instincts give them the strength to do something that is quite unimaginable.

A similar incident happened in Canada with Holland and her 4-year-old daughter Macy. Holland is herself quite shocked by the whole happening and is forever thankful that she was able to come out of it alive and most importantly, save her daughter.

The 24-year-old Ashley Holland was driving her daughter, Macy, to a birthday party. Macy was strapped into the back seat of the car. Holland was very careful when driving but some things are just meant to happen. Her car hit black ice and in no time, the car rolled down an embankment and into the water.

She was terrified and so was Macy. When the car was about to fall into the icy pond, Macy shouted, “Mom, I’m going to die.” Holland could not think anything but about her daughter at that moment. She wanted to get her out safe and sound at any cost.

The car turned over and windows jiggered. Water made its way in through the windows and the car started to sink. There was no time to think. Holland had to take some action in order to rescue Macy. She managed to unbuckle herself and get out of the car window. The doors were jammed and she tried very hard to open the rear door. Her effort paid off and she was able to open the door. But it was definitely not easy as her hands were now covered with ice and slush.

Holland panicked for a second but she knew in heart that she had to do anything to save her daughter. This instinct arose a lot of strength in her and she was able to unbuckle the bottom strap of Macy’s seat. Macy unbuckled the upper ones and with no second to spare, Holland dragged herself and Macy out through a broken window.

The struggle didn’t end here as she had to be careful while bringing her out. She kept her above the water so that she doesn’t get hypothermic. Miraculously, Macy’s hair didn’t get any wet and Holland carried her to the shore and was able to survive this dangerous accident.

Even Capt. Ryan Richard of the Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department who happened to pass from that area after the whole incident described it as a miracle. It was surprising that none of them had any symptoms of hypothermia.

We just want to applaud Holland for her bravery and valor. Not only Holland but all other moms who are ready to face any situation when their kids are involved even if it means to put themselves in danger.
