Art Teacher Flaunts A Vibrant Skirt With Her Students’ Drawings All Over It

Lifestyle April, 23, 2024

When the McAullife Elementary School organized an art show, this art teacher, Rebecca Bonner stole the show with her beautiful dress. Her 580 students designed it perfectly. She wanted to keep the theme of the event alive and chose a phenomenal way to do that.

Bonner knows how to encourage her students to follow a creative path. This idea is definitely commendable and all we have is admiration for this woman. You will feel the same once you know what she did.

Bonner brought a plain white dress to school and put colored fabric markers beside that dress. Then, she asked the children to draw whatever they feel like on that piece of clothing utilizing those fabric markers.

Kids won’t love anything more than getting the freedom to show their artistic skills on something that is not paper or canvas. That’s too boring for them after a while! They need new things to display their creativity. Bonner fulfilled this wish of her students and let them doodle on the dress.

The students were allotted the bottom part of the dress that is the skirt region to draw one thing. They brought out their creative side and filled the skirt with vibrant doodles!

Bonner’s colorful attire got ready and it looked stunning. The hand-crafted stuff always catches our attention.

She later revealed, “We talked about how we had to be respectful of each other’s artwork and chose images that I would like on my dress. I loved watching my kids design it.” The kids’ enthusiasm must be unmatched when they were handed the pens and markers!

Charlece Lake, 20 is Bonner’s daughter who shared this gem on Twitter. She could not be happier to watch her mom showcase her students’ artwork at such a special event. She wanted the world to recognize her mom’s incredible work. Her post went viral!

The dress looked vibrant when she wore it to the school district’s art show in Highland Village, a suburb of Dallas. She definitely made a head-turning appearance with such a unique dress.

Bonner was excited about receiving such a wonderful response to this activity that she conducted in her classroom. She decided to do it all over again. She said, “My new students and my kindergartners need the opportunity to be a part of a doodle dress. I just need to order a new, plain white dress off Amazon!”

Her dress is an outstanding example that students can be engaged in the classroom in a fun way.

The entire thing spread a positive message in the world and Lake was glad that she could be a part of this positivity. She is following her mom’s footsteps and completing a degree in teaching.

Bonner admitted, “I’m not worried about being famous or anything like that but I do think it’s great to promote the arts, because elementary art is not everywhere. I think it’s really important for kids to have that outlet, to have that place to create, and that freedom to create.”

These thoughts are truly motivating and we are sure that this way, more students would grow up to be really creative.
