The global pandemic has changed everything for everyone. Especially for high school who have been waiting for their prom. But one 7-year-old felt bad for his nanny when he heard that her prom had been canceled. Thus, he made efforts to take her to prom himself. He hosted a prom for her nanny to make it special for her.
High school students have not only missed their graduation but have also faced with new harsh realities of cancelation of one of the most special days of their lives, the prom. Though there are students for whom the prom does not matter, for the majority of the student prom is a big thing and one of the most awaited days in their lives.
When a 7-year-old got to know that his nanny’s prom was canceled he felt bad for her. The incredible decided to do something for his nanny o that she does not miss out on her prom. Thus, he hosted one for her. Curtis Rogers a resident of Raleigh, North Carolina was heartbroken to see her nanny, 17-year-old, Rachel Chapman of many years heartbroken because of cancellation of her prom.
Though the two had not seen each other for two months due to the break of COVID-19 when Curtis got to know that her nanny’s prom was canceled he hosted a prom night for her. For him, she was not just her nanny but was her family. The young boy hosted a prom for his nanny in his backyard. He did everything that should have been done on her original prom.
He started by inviting her through a massive invite sign. When he invited her by preparing a massive invitation sign the 17-year-old going to Sanderson High School, was surprised. She told Good Morning America that “I was so surprised, I had no idea he was going to go all out. It was very thoughtful and sweet.”
For the prom night dinner, he had set up a dinner table for the two of them in his backyard with Rachel’s favorite food from Chick-Fil-A. not only that Curtis even matched his outfit with Rachel’s purple prom dress. The young boy even raised a toast for her nanny and then danced with her on her favorite songs. But both of them maintained social distancing.
Curtis shared why he did what he did and said “I planned it out because Rachel probably just wanted to see me a lot and she also is one of the best people I’ve known. Rachel is one of our favorite people and Rachel’s like the best nanny ever.”
His mother further shared that “She has become apart of our family, he absolutely adores her. She’s a just great person with good heart so it’s been a blessing to have her helping us out with Curtis.”
The story was heartwarming for many people and was covered by many. The small gestures matter a lot. A 7-year-old doing so much for his nanny shows compassion and love for each other. It proved that some bonds are beyond blood. The heartwarming story gained a lot of attention.
